Immigration Services

Since Cyprus joined the EU in 2004 citizens of all EU countries are guaranteed freedom to work in Cyprus exactly as they are in all other member states. However, if an EU citizen intends to remain in the country for longer than 90 days, either to work, start a business, study or retire, he/she should begin the application process for a temporary residence permit as soon as possible.

Non-EU citizens intending to work in Cyprus require a work permit (as well as a visa) before arriving in the country. In order to issue a work permit for some positions, the Ministry of Labour must be satisfied that a Cypriot or an EU citizen isn’t available to do the job.

Companies that meet certain criteria (having its own office in Cyprus, etc) can apply for the employment of foreign personnel. We will assist with the preparation and processing of such applications. The Director of Civil Registry and Migration Department is the authority responsible for the first issue and subsequent renewals of Temporary Residence Permits granted to all non-Cypriots employed by Business Companies in Cyprus.

Whether you are travelling to the Republic of Cyprus for a short stay as a tourist or a businessperson, or with a purpose of employment and residence, Clarion BC can assist you in arrangements for:

  • Entry visas & invitations
  • Work permits for Non-EU nationals
  • Residence permit for EU citizens (“yellow slip”)
  • Immigration process to acquire citizenship
